Ceridwen Hazelchild Designs
The illustrative textile designs of artist Ceridwen Hazelchild are a comforting visual celebration of rural Britain.
Inspired by nature, folk tale and the British countryside, Ceridwen's products are lovingly hand crafted in her small studio in Bristol. Using a heat press Ceridwen turns her colourful, original illustrations into a variety of textile accessories including tote bags, wash bags, pocket mirrors and cushion covers. Her work is also available on a variety of paper good products such as greetings cards, notebooks and planners. There really is something for everyone in her online shop.
Ceridwen is environmentally conscious in her practice. She aims to encourage eco-living in her customers. Her business started as a small venture designing a range of bright tote bags to give people a stylish alternative to the plastic shopping bag before it expanded into the impressive range that it is today. Her designs are practical, reusable and visually attractive - something perhaps even more appealing since the introduction of the 5p bag charge. A Ceridwen Hazelchild illustrated tote bag definitely beats your Asda branded thickened plastic bag for style.
I am in love with Ceridwen's vibrant use of colour and simple design. My favorite pieces include this lovely blue caravan tote bag, this koi carp lampshade and these super cute cup of tea pocket mirrors. There is something quaintly British about Ceridwen's work. Her designs remind me of summery days, wellies, muddy festivals and family camping holidays - memories that will always bring a smile to my face.
Her vast array of beautifully illustrated products are available to purchase through her website.
